Sally Caswell wins First Place in 2024 MMU Sci-Fi Hat Design Contest

Sally Caswell won first place in the Millinery Meet-up Sci-Fi themed competition for her hat titled “Resistance Is Futile. You have been assimilated by the yassified Borg!” Inspired by the Borg from Star Trek, and per the competition rules, Sally designed and constructed this amazing piece using non-traditional millinery materials like chrome vinyl, nylon mesh, steampunk goggles, hookah hoses, EVA foam, fiber optic cable batteries, a PVC elbow joint, jumper wires, phone cable elastic and wire. Perhaps milliners should consider shopping at the hardware store? Her not so out-of-this-world materials included fur felt, rhinestone trim. paint, thread, glue and cotton canvas.
