Sally learned to sew at a young age from her mother. With that skill, she was always making something.  Returning from a trip to New York in her teens, she came home with a fashionable hat on her head and a new obsession. After years of seeking out and buying hats, she finally decided to combine her love of making things with her love of hats. Sally enrolled in the millinery program at FIT and soon after completing the certificate program, she began her business and joined the Milliners Guild. She joined the Guild in 2008, on the Guild’s 1st anniversary, and has since served as President from 2019-2021, with earlier service as Vice President, Treasurer, and as Board Member for many terms.

In addition to her own millinery line, Sally has the privilege of working with world renowned milliner, Stephen Jones. They have worked together on NY Fashion Week shows, as well as the Met Gala, several installations at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Dior exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum.

Rounding out her millinery experience, she also works in the theatrical world at Arnold Levine, Inc., making hats for Broadway, ballets, regional theaters, Disney, movies, and TV, and she teaches millinery at Purchase College.

Sally’s own designs include hats for special occasions as well as casual everyday wear, and all her hats are meticulously handmade. Her creations are available directly from her by appointment, as well as at East Village Hats and The Hat Shop in New York City.
