Millinery Meetup announces 2024 Scholarship Winner

In collaboration with the Milliners Guild, Millinery Meetup has named Nancy Baltazar the 2024 Scholarship Winner. A fashion design graduate from Mexico City, Nancy’s design style combines experimentation, craftsmanship and functionality. And she loves taking courses outside of fashion to infuse new ideas into her designs.

”I’m a fashion designer born in Mexico, and I’m living currently in Toronto, ON, where I graduated from Centennial College with a Diploma in Fashion Business and Management. I have been living in Canada for two and a half years, and it is my intention to establish a business in this country in a couple of years. My interest in fashion started at a very young age, with the desire to channel my creativity in a way that was also functional. I’ve had the opportunity to work in three countries now, France, Mexico and Canada, focusing mainly in hat making and textile design. I define myself as a curious soul who likes to learn and apply the knowledge in unusual ways, so I’m always looking for ways to improve my design. Aside from fashion, I’m interested in illustration, film, photography, and dance.”
