Welcome to “Once Upon a Hat,” where every creation has a name and place to be worn. I credit my late Mother and Aunt with instilling in me a sense of faith, grace and style. We come from a long line of “Sunday-Go- To-Meeting- Church-Hat- Wearing-Women.” Every Sunday I looked forward to the parade of ladies in their finest crowns. I think of my hats as works of art, like sculpture. Utilizing traditional and non-traditional materials that run the gamut from leather to lace, mosaic tile to wood, straw, wool, silk, cotton, vinyl, etc.
I have been a life-long connoisseur of hats. I started decorating hats for approximately 15 years and progressed to designing for over 10 years. I attended Pratt Institute for Fashion Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) for Millinery. In addition, I am also available for consultation or coordination of Hat Shows.
