With over 20 years of experience in New York City’s fashion industry as an illustrator, fashion and technical designer, Lisa McFadden branched out from her now-iconic ‘CRUSH’ hats to launch the Bronx, NY based millinery brand LISAMCFADDEN MILLINERY in 2014. A graduate of Fashion Design with top honors, Lisa’s talent has been praised by the legendary couturier, Pierre Cardin, as a designer who “knows her job”. Her headwear has been featured in media outlets such as Hatalk.com as a contributing writer, Vogue Runway, WWD, GoldenGlobes.com, Today's Black Woman, CFDA.com, Signature Bride, Agenda, Fault and The Hat Magazine. She continues to push the boundaries of millinery with her bespoke collaborations and passion projects such as fashion filmmaking and mentoring. Lisa's first short film 'Journey Cuba’ screened at festivals in NYC, Chicago, and Tokyo. She’s created couture headwear for special installations with the Milliners Guild at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Mezzanine Gallery. Collaborators includes Edwina Owens Elliott, creator of the illustrated series, Winona, Inc., iconic fashion designers Stephen Burrows, In Earnest’s Byron Lars and Sheila Gray, as well as textile designers Savel, Inc., Tania Vartan and Scott Bodenner. She is a member of the Milliners Guild, served as its newsletter's editor-in-chief and on the board.
